We worked with Sameera Azeem, the brilliant Creative Director behind Ghost London for our latest photoshoot, What Lies Beneath. Styling our shoot with Ghost’s beautiful dresses added the perfect touch of sophistication and elegance that we all look for during the summer events season. We sat down with Sameera to delve into her creative process, inspirations, and what makes this collaboration so special. As the Creative Director at Ghost, tell us what a typical day looks like for you.
My days are busy with a variety of different things going on. We work across multiple seasons at a time, so I’m currently finalising fabrics, colours and trims for AW24 and planning what vision for SS25. I have a lot of creative meetings to run through everything from sketches, all the way up to the final ranges.
Fluidity and femininity are hallmarks of the Ghost aesthetic. Could you elaborate on how these design principles influence your creative vision for the brand?
By embracing fluidity and femininity, Ghost creates a cohesive and compelling vision that is reflected in every aspect of its design and brand philosophy. These 2 principles contribute to creating timeless pieces that transcend seasonal trends. We prioritise comfort without compromising on style. The garments are crafted to be both functional and beautiful, appealing to modern women who seek both practicality and aesthetic appeal in their wardrobes.

What makes you feel supported and empowered in your everyday life?
I have a fantastic team of women around me at Ghost who support me on a day to day. As a brand that is all about femininity, empowerment within our team is so important. In my daily life, I also love going to yoga as a self-care practice to feel empowered.
We are heading into the summer events season, where we see bridal and occasionwear dresses in all colours and styles. What are your trend predictions for Summer ’24?
Vintage Inspirations: retro styles will be making a comeback. Alongside minimalist chic, simple, clean lines with minimal embellishments will continue to be a trend. Sleek silhouettes, slip dresses, and understated elegance will appeal to those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic.
