Our sustainability and ethics initiative, Planet Heist, was born out of the belief that liberating underwear shouldn’t cost the earth. Find out about everything we are doing between now and 2022 and beyond. From reducing our environmental impact to supporting everyone in our supply chain, welcome to Planet Heist.

The launch of our first recycled product, The Fishnet in 2019, marked the beginning of Heist developing sustainability innovation across the entire product range. Since then, we have gone on to launch new sustainable styles to The Tights Collection, each made from recycled yarns, including recycled Polyamide (Q-Nova® by Fulgar) and recycled Elastane (Roica Eco-Smart™).
These styles include The Sustainable Thirty-Five, The Sustainable Sixty and The Patterned Collection (The Chevron, The Shimmer, The Polka Dot, The Diamond).
We started by focusing on tights because of all our products, they are most likely to end up in landfill. In 2021 we are starting to roll out eco and sustainable fabrics in our underwear and our mission for the future is to use sustainable materials across all product categories.
We know however, that commiting to using sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials across our product range isn’t enough and we acknowledge that we need to do more. We have already implemented a made-on-demand stock replenishment process and are currently exploring circular business models. In these small ways we hope to reduce the impact of our products on the environment.

All components of our packaging, and we mean all, are recyclable. We only use FSC certified paper, made using materials from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources, and any plastic components are made from 100% recycled materials. We’d just recommend checking your local recycling guidelines, as recycling facilities can vary depending on location.
People are at the heart of what we do and why we do it. That’s why we pay a fair living wage to our employees and contributors. In our supply chain, we only partner with factories and warehouses who guarantee a safe and supportive working environment and evidence their commitment to this with Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) certification and preferably Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) registration.

Our Commitment from today until 2022
Under the Planet Heist promise, we have committed to achieving a series of sustainability and ethics goals by 2022. Today, we have focused our efforts on the areas that will have the biggest immediate positive impact. And, there will be more to come as we look ahead to 2025, 2050 and beyond.
By 2022, we are committed to:
· Reducing our Greenhouse Gas Emissions by eliminating the use of virgin fossil fuels in our products and packaging and replacing them with recycled, biosynthetic and biodegradable materials.
· Reducing the number of our products going to landfill by providing our customers with a free, global recycling programme.
· Reducing energy consumption across all of our activities (including manufacturing, shipping, offices and travel) and switching all direct usage to renewable energy.
