“Believe the hype about Heist”+ more
We’re all familiar with the trials and tribulations of that most ubiquitous of undergarments: tights. From the holes and the ladders to the haphazardly sewn seams that twist annoyingly around our baby toes and the droopy waistbands that result in needing to find a quiet corner to covertly yank back up – choosing a dud pair can result in a long day and evening of discomfort. Step forward Heist, the London-based hosiery innovators who have changed all that.

“The perfect tights?”+ more
Fed up with having to throw another pair of saggy ‘Nora Batty’ tights in the bin? Now a British start-up firm claims it has the answer. Heist, which is based in an old Spitfire factory in London’s Mornington Crescent, boasts it has ‘cracked the perfect pair of black tights’. They don’t sag around the crotch or the knee, and are not itchy either…

“The best black tights ever”+ more
When it comes to black tights, my level of obsession is up there with Zooey Deschanel. I’ve been known to wear my opaques all the way through to August, so why do I balk at spending more than £10 on a pair? Though I do have the odd bit of expensive hosiery stashed away, I’ve always been more of a Primark multipack girl — that is, until Heist came along…

“Change Your Mind About Tights”There are very few things that terrify me quite as much as the thought of wearing nude tights. I’ve avoided them for as long as I can remember because they ladder, never match skin tones and make your pins look plastic and shiny. Tan tights should be kept for dancers and Kate Middleton, right? Not strictly so—at least not anymore…

“An unequivocal winner”+ more
I’ve never tried a pair of gussetless tights before and it’s rather nice not having that sanitary towelesque crotch that makes normal tights so unappealing. The tights themselves are silky, soft and don’t snag, which makes them an unequivocal winner.

“The end of saggy, uncomfortable tights”“Heist, which was launched last November, has re-engineered how hosiery is made. While most tights have 500 to 1,000 spirals of elastine around each thread, it uses 5,000. The waistband is constructed out of a technical fabric used in sportswear…”

“Tights brand you need to know”+ more
These revolutionary new tights are invisible under clothes, creating the perfect shape no matter what you’re wearing. No wonder they’re already being donned by fashion bloggers and stylists alike. With hand-sewn waistbands, under-the-toe-only seams, and a far higher spiral count (equivalent to thread count in bedding) than any other brand on the market, these tights contour the body perfectly for a clean silhouette.

“Heist has nailed it”+ more
Heist has also done something I massively respect and appreciate by focusing on one type of product, at least for now anyway, and perfecting it. The research, time, care and meticulous attention to detail they’ve put in to creating their concise range of opaque tights is impressive, smart and will guarantee that whatever direction this company takes in terms of expanding their offering, will be a success. Interesting, smart, female empowering brand plus great product offered up in a luxurious manner…

When first worn, these 50 denier opaques felt very luxurious, soft and silky and they lived up to their claim, never rolling down. I found the Heist tights incredibly comfortable and, for once, I didn’t have to worry about the crotch riding down all the time. Basically, I’m a convert – if you’re tall, like me, you’ll love them.
