Good tights last for years. Here are a few small habits make sure of it.

Get these three right first

Our tights run true to size, measured by hip and waist rather than height. If you're between sizes, go for the larger one: less tension on the yarn means the pair lasts longer. Check the size guide before you buy.

Roll them on. Bunch the leg fabric, step in, then roll up gradually. Pulling straight up by the waistband is what stresses it first.

Clear the path. Nails filed, rings and bracelets off, before the tights go anywhere near your hands or feet.

Waistband digs or rolls

Most waistband problems come down to two things: the wrong size, or pulling the tights on by the top instead of rolling them up. A waistband sewn from two tubes has a seam down the middle that restricts stretch, which is where digging usually starts.

Fix: Heist tights are knit as one seamless piece with a hand-sewn adaptive waistband, so there is no centre seam to dig or roll.
