Why tights ladder, and what stops it
A ladder starts with one broken filament. In standard hosiery the yarn is a single nylon thread wrapped around a lycra core, so when it cuts, the whole column runs. Think of this as a piece of thread, with another thread wrapped around it over 5,000 times per inch. It is this double-covered yarn which makes each thread harder to break in the first place.

As the garment leaves the factory, heat sets an elastane film through the knit, so a catch holds where it is instead of running to the toe. It does not stiffen the fabric or restrict movement. The Sixty
60 denier opaque, knit from recycled Q-Nova® yarn, seamless and gusset-free. Heavier by nature, so it resists ladders partly by mass.
Good for: a winter weight that shrugs off catches on its own.
Which denier resists ladders best
Denier is the weight of the yarn, not a measure of quality. A finer tight has less material between a sharp edge and a run, which is why an 18 denier nude sheer or a 15 denier sheer needs anti-snag fusion more than a 60 does. Heavier deniers hold together partly by mass: there is simply more yarn in the structure to hold the tight together.

The test is the tenth wear, not the first
